His art is deeply meaningful and independent – he does not seek self-serving sensation and is not a slave to passing fads. Accepting in a peculiar way the „avant-garde“ of modern times, the author strives to always offer the audience something new and different – both in form and in idea. His creative process often begins with the classical sketch and en plein air painting to escalate to complex symbolism resolved in metaphysical, surreal and anachronistic terms.

Nephew of the legendary Nacho Kulturata and owner of the cultural space „The Red Pony“, Shishkov started painting at a later stage, but quickly created a completely unique and recognizable handwriting.
Working at prima vista, guided entirely by his inner feeling, he transferred techniques from poster art to the canvas. His paintings are made up of large-scale, flat patches of color and emit incredible light. Inspired by the divine corners of the planet – from Santorini to Morocco – he paints deserted but welcoming landscapes, houses and temples. His art is devoid of pretension, and precisely because of this he succeeds in recreating the world as a primordial, heavenly place, turning it into, in the words of the poet Rumen Leonidov, „a master of colorful dreams.“

Lives and works in Plovdiv. Svetla Moskova shares about the artist: „Very quickly he caught his own pulse. He felt the magic of the monochrome ranges, from which contrasting harmonies, graphically pronounced forms, the play of „chasing“ between the sun and the shadow, the mystery of the urban landscape are unexpectedly born. The city blinked its eyes in a summer afternoon siesta, with soft, lying on the pavement reflections of the roofs; silvery silence of the quiet wind in the bare branches of a December morning; a smiling, happy ray of sunshine winking in the open window on a bright spring morning; the city in the gray shadows of an autumn cloudless sky… Truly, poetry can be written according to the „script“ of Rumenov’s picturesque canvases.“
